...not that I'm car shopping already, but I saw one of these on the road and didn't know that it existed in sedan form. If I had, I would've gotten a Sonic sedan instead of the Cube.

They're pretty fun with the 1.4 turbo and a stick.

TUUUUUUURBOOOOOO

The problem with the sonic sedan is that the cruze exists. And the stock cruze is a bit of a snooze (ha!) but it IS the basis for a WTCC car and that just makes it infinitely more sexy in my eyes.

Neat little car. Everyone will shout "turbo!" but the NA engine is fun, too.

So I hear. I looked at the hatch but the hatch just didn't appeal to me. Went to 2 chevy dealers and neither one had a Sonic sedan nor did a salesman mention that it came as a sedan when I said I didn't care for the hatch.

The Sonic sedan looks nice, but honestly if you're spending that much at GM just go for the Cruze Eco.

I love me some subcompacts though. The Cruze is too big for my tastes.

I'd imagine a bit more fuel efficient too, though I can't say for sure. If this car really is potential future car for me, I'd wind up with the more fuel efficient option because DD.

What is the point of a tiny car that isn't a hatch?
![]() 11/25/2014 at 14:28 |

Probably not. I think the Turbo gets better highway mileage. It is a smaller engine after all, and was tuned for efficiency.

Dunno, I just like the sedan more in this case.

But the sonic sedan starts at 15,060. The Cruze starts at 17,745. That's almost 3 grand difference and when talking about low priced cars, 3 grand is a lot.

Yeah, but it's an extra, what, $50/mo on the payment? You get a lot more car for the money. Plus it seems like most companies are eligible for GM Supplier Discount these days for their employees.

Had a seden for a rental, liked it better than the girlfriends Mazda2 for sure.
Actually pretty quick!

I'll take "things not normally said by car buyers" for 400$ please.

Sedan?! But this is available...

I don't like the hatch. Also you can have the RS spec in the sedan, so that point is moot.

I never cared for bigger cars. The smaller the better. Gimme a kei car and I'll be happy.

I don't like the sedan. It looks goofy

I feel the same about the hatch, like it was being designed and then it's just cut off at the back.

All the subcompact sedans have too much rear overhang, and I'd rather have a hatch than a tiny trunk. The taillights on the Sonic sedan look like a complete afterthought

but.... It's not boxy?!

That probably means you don't resemble your avatar photo...

+1. I want so bad to like the hatch, but the rear just looks awkward.
